Enjoyable for the superb dance numbers (including the famous Tom & Jerry animated/live action dance number - pretty advanced for the time). Not long on plot or acting, but the happy spirit this film carries is contagious.

Standard old style musical with many smiles that is very short on plot, but high on hijinx, songs and dances. If you like that type of movie you will probably will like this, that type is not really the kind of film I enjoy. I am not going to let it pass at that either because the jokes are really corny and unfunny. One scene that is incredibly good and if more of teh film had been like it, it would have been great and that is the cartoon scene which work incredibly well. Oscar Nominee Gene Kelly Best Actor 1/5- Gene Kelly does his thing with his voice that is rather annoying. He plays this role like he does almost every other role. He dances well but that does not mean he really does a good acting job.
