Joel (Bateman) is the owner and founder of Reynold's Extract who plans of selling the company to General Mills. Cindy (Kunis) spots an opportunity to steal from the factory and manipulate an injured employee. Soundtrack was dull, pacing was descent but the overall hindrance were the lame and sometimes idiotic characters. It had dark moments such as the death of the annoying neighbor. Had a few laughable scenes but overall Extract tried too much on the message such as fidelity, valuing your job/employer, respect of your workers and relationships. Definitely eons apart from the greatness of Office Space and humor of Beavis and Butt-head Do America.

An OK comedy - the characters, though pretty much one-dimensional, are the only reason to watch. J.K. Simmons is great as the boss who can't remember names, as is David Koechner as the annoying talky neighbor. Focus on them and not the story, which is pretty weak.

Extract, a Mr. E Movie Review
(Run time: 92 min. - Directed by: Mike Judge - Starring: Jason Bateman, Ben Affleck, Mila Kunis, Kristen Wiig)
The new comedy Extract isn't necessarily a laugh riot, but it has it's moments. Now, don't get me wrong Extract is a bad movie, it‘s just not a great movie! It’s entertaining, full of colorful characters, and was worth the price of admission. It just doesn’t take you on that much of a ride.
The story is about Joel, played by Jason Bateman, who is the owner of an extract manufacturing plant. But, when an accident happens on the warehouse floor it has Joel worrying about a possible lawsuit. In addition, Joel and his wife Suzie, played by Kristen Wiig, are having problems with their sex life and so Joel turns to his bartender buddy, …

Boring and upsetting

I was looking forward to this film for the last few weeks, I have always been a fan of Mike Judge' work; Office Space was undeniable good, Beavis and Butthead is a classic and Idiocracy, though it was weak on some points, was still a good time. Extract is not. All of the actors seemed like they only ran their lines once and unfortunately Bateman's character was the worst. He was boring to watch and his character was passive through most of the movie.
Ben Affleck's role as the sidekick is irritating; He spends the whole movie talking about drugs, which was funny-ish the 1st time. By the end of the movie his character is worn out and stereotypical.
Mila Kunis impressed in Forgetting Sarah Marshall but her character had little screen time, and when she was around she was 2-D. She …
