The story is about a team of archaeologists in the antarctic stumble upon old ruins. While they explore they realize that they are not alone and in the middle of a battle tradition that is older than the human race itself. This movie has awful CGI and acting but the fight with the alien and the predator are awesome.

The human casts and the character of Alexa was never engaging. Its set designs and special effects were sensational, if only the action, soundtrack and screenplay could have been closely spectacular. An attempt to revitalize 2 franchise perhaps, this typical popcorn flick boasts its quantity over substance. AVP: Alien Vs. Predator is a prime example of how to cash in with the aid of CGI while leaving the audiences amazed instead of shocked while not caring about the other characters aside from the Aliens and Predators.

The film follows a team of archaeologists assembled by billionaire Charles Bishop Weyland (Henriksen) for an expedition near the Antarctic to investigate a mysterious heat signal. Weyland hopes to claim the find for himself, and his group discovers a pyramid below the surface of a whaling station. Hieroglyphs and sculptures reveal that the pyramid is a hunting ground for Predators who kill Aliens as a rite of passage. The humans are caught in the middle of a battle between the two species and attempt to prevent the Aliens from reaching the surface. What a piece of crap! This movie goe beyond on how a project can be ridiculous .

Avoid This Fox Cash Grab

Not true to either of its parent franchises, this watered down cash grab is an excellent example of how Fox treats it properties. Squeeze out a quick buck and leave the franchise dead and buried like toxic waste. Everything is forgettable. The plot was stupid and seemed like a young child wrote it. This human mountain climber lady manages to kill like 2 predators and a few aliens and an aliens queen, like its no big deal, and the predators are all heaping praise on her and finding her worthy etc... How come it took 6 elite SEALs to take down ONE predator back in the first film, now one human, who isn't even military trained can take them down like nothing and even an alien queen? Ridiculous bastardization and a disgrace to the name. Fox has done and continues to do this kind of this with …

Surprisingly Good!

Never had any interest in seeing this upon it's initial theatrical release as i had already saw another monster vs monster movie and thought it sucked...Freddy Vs. Jason so with that godawful movie in mind i had little and no interest in seeing yet another of my two favorite film franchises once again merge and do battle. Bored out of my mind last night flicking through the channels on my sattelite i started watching the cut up movie that AMC had to offer on their Kevin Smith hosted Fear Fest (for those that do not know about what this is ...AMC usually air nothing but horror films on the weeks surrounding Halloween) Anyhoo...saw that a Predator marathon of sorts was showing along with Predator 1-2 AVP was on next so i'm it's not like i was doing anything anyhow...sigh...might as well …

A research team investigating an ancient pyramid discovered beneath the Antarctic are caught in the middle of a battle between two hostile alien races. Paul W. S. Anderson is a damn hack, which makes it deeply annoying that I actually quite enjoyed this film. The action sequences are pretty damn good; the scene where a predator fights toe to toe with an alien is worth 3 stars on it's own. Unfortunately, the rest of the film doesn't quite measure up to its heritage. In a way it reminded me of Jurassic Park because it's a creature feature where the creatures are much more interesting than the people involved; characterisation is sketchy at best, a mistake too many writers make because it makes it impossible to care what happens to everyone. Even Sanaa Lathan is sexy and sassy, but at the …
