It doesn't stray far from the pastiche of "Before Sunrise," but when you have a movie as magical and affecting as it, why would you want to change a single thing?

An organic continuation of 'Before Sunrise'. We meet up with these characters years later, as they pick up right where they previously left off. It's everything that the first film was in terms of the writing, directing, and acting. I'd give 'Before Sunset' all of the same praises. I didn't quite enjoy the ending as much this time. Yet, it does carry more curiosity with it and makes me want to see the next in the series, 'Before Midnight', all the more.

Even better than the amazing first film! Jesse and Celine reunite after 9 years and their relationship is just as affecting as ever. Before Sunset benefits (again) from a brilliant screenplay and a special/indescribable chemistry between Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy. This film cannot be missed.

Although it has no consistent tone, motif, definite example or evidence to support the claim, I perceived it as very dark from the start.
The dialogue was fresh and interesting in Sunrise as well, but this one offers so much more that doesn't meet the eye.
Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy are excellent once again in the roles they were, I'm positive, born to play.
I would take their charisma and lengthy smalltalk over explosions and CGI every day of the week. I don't think there is a single line of dialogue out of place in the entire movie, and …

A rare sequel that surpasses the brilliance of its predecessor. This was just perfection, authentic and well-paced. Jesse (Ethan Hawke) and Celine (Julie Delpy) meets again after their encounter 9 years ago in Vienna. Jesse promotes his bestselling novel This Time in a books store in Paris where Celine was waiting for him to finish promoting. They stroll and converse to catch up with lost time and revealing how their lives have evolved. Authentic and proficiently executed camera work makes you feel a part of their conversations. The soundtrack was pertinent depending on the mood of the scene and Delpy and Hawke manages to convince that the flame was never lost. I thoroughly enjoyed this better than Before Sunrise not only because of the characters maturity, added humor, and scenic …
