Yet another of the endless and totally interchangable british feelgood comedies. Switch the football element for music, you've got The Commitments. Switch it for ballet, you've got Billy Elliot. Switch it for stripping, you've got The Full Monty etc etc etc. Not awful by any means, but will a British scriptwriter PLEASE come up with a new idea??

They really should just call this montage the movie. I guess the biggest issue I have is they keep talking about how they want to play in America because they have great women's leagues that are so much better then the ones in England. I just find that incredibly hard to believe knowing how unpopular soccer is in the USA. Not a bad movie overall though but it could have been better

A unique film with likable characters and broad notes of comedy. It's not as interesting as it maybe could be, but, it works.

So when she is spotted in a park by Jules (Keira Knightley), who plays for the local girls' team, an invitation to try out is both alluring and forbidden. Jess makes the team, becomes friends with Jules, develops a crush on her coach Joe (Jonathan Rhys-Meyers), and spends the summer hiding her passion from her family as she prepares for college and her sister's wedding. But when her sister’s wedding is scheduled for the same day …
