Let's face it - Herschell Gordon Lewis is not a good director and Blood Feast is not a good film. However, it plays an important part in the history of horror - the first true "gore" film that opened the floodgates for everything that came after: video nasties, slasher films, torture porn - Lewis is called the Godfather of Gore for a reason. Blood Feast is terrible - but for fans of horror, it's also a kind of Holy Grail.

With all the bad acting & the way it was shot, Watching Blood Feast brung back memories of the videos/ movies we use to have to shoot in High School film class. It was like watching all those videos/ movies now & thinking they were so good back then. Now you look at them & think what the hell was I thinking.Blood Feast was 1 of those videos/ movies. It felt like it was made for some High School film project
