It took me all afternoon the end it bravely! The 5 minutes stadion scene was nice, the plot is interesting, but...it took too long, damn it!

The Secret in Their Eyes review
Daniel Corleone - wrote on 10/04/2013
The story could have been more engaging with better character development. The look of the film was gorgeous. Even the camerawork was crafty and artists compelling with their roles. Screenplay was impressive with loads of quotable lines: "Live and let live." "I remember those stupid things." "You have to be a little more patient." "This is the real world." “Memories are all we end up with.” “How can someone live an empty life?..How do you live a life full of nothing?” Its downside was its character history as mentioned in the beginning of this review and length. If only it were edited and directed in a manner where the leads had more background. The Secret in their Eyes may have some elements of Memento, it lacks the entertainment value despite its technical brilliance.

This astonishing crime-thriller takes on many themes, but one stands out more than any of them. The Secret In Their Eyes explores memories and how or weather or not we should hold on to them.
The story is told through flashbacks, but ideas here can better be told in chronological order. Early in his career, Benjamin Esposito becomes involved in the case Liliana Colotto, who was raped and murdered. Two killers are found, but Esposito knows them not to be the killers. From there on the case becomes somewhat of an obsession for Esposito. The film follows him for years as he can’t seem to forget about it. He can’t seem to wrap his head around the idea of the killer being redeemed or the victims husband getting over it. This is all done so well thanks to fantastic technical …
