Two days after the conclusion of The Descent, search parties are trying to locate the missing girls in the Appalachian Mountains. Local authorities find and secure the lone survivor, and force her to lead them back into the mysterious underground caverns, and that's when everything goes wrong. This is a weak sequel that is not scary and this movie has stupid scenes like one of the cave demons went to take a crap and I am not joking.

Pretty much just like the first, but not nearly as suspenseful and with weaker (new) characters. I guess if you liked the first one, you will be more apt to like this one, but to me it felt like a tired rehash.

WEAK!

Two of the girls from the original cast return as search parties scour the Appalacian Mountains. Juno is a Senator's relative and garnishes the most attention for the search, while Sarah is forced to return to the treacherous caverns by local authorities to provide clues.
Unlike the great original, which was filled with scares, intrigue, mystery, and a strong female cast, the sequel gives us one new female character and a bunch of macho men. Gone is the psychological terror, though it is hinted at once when Sarah warns, "Don't worry. It's all in your mind."
Instead, the viewer is given a pretty weak back story, we even get to see one of the cave dwellers taking a shit, to secure that The Descent will always have straight to DVD and 3 a.m. showings of the upcoming parts 3-12. Sigh.
