I'm as surprised as most that this film manages to sustain it's running time and never bore. It's a one man show filled with suspense. For those reasons alone, I have to give it a good rating. It's not a great film, but it delivers as much as possible from it's unique premise.

"Buried" by Yojimbo

Very much the Ryan Reynolds show, Buried is set in its entirety in a wooden box with Reynolds himself being the only character to appear on screen. A bit of a "concept" film, Buried is obviously limited by its own premise; we see nothing but a man in a box being scared and desperate and talking on the phone. A lot. I've not seen The King's Speech but I have seen 127 Hours, so since I've only seen one of those films, perhaps to early for me to say this. But, of all the performances I've seen in 2010, the award for the best goes to Ryan Reynolds for Buried!
Reynolds plays Paul Conroy, a contractor working in Iraq. One night, he's truck is attacked by terrorists. Leaving Paul unconscious. Paul wakes up in a coffin with nothing but a lighter, a cell phone, and various resources of light. With limited oxygen …
