Held down by a boring cast and lacking any kind of imaginative spin on previous Spidey incarnations, it doesn't hold a candle to the first two Sam Raimi films.

I've never been a fan of Spiderman even when Tobey Maguire was playing it, so I won't blame Andrew Garfield why I only enjoyed this movie a little. Fine, Garfield and Stone are adorable couple to watch but most of the humor, fun, and excitement an action-adventure film should deliver are off-timing with this reboot. I don't hate it, I was just looking for something more.

"The Amazing Spider-Man" by Yojimbo

A high school student is bitten by an experimental genetically engineered spider and develops amazing powers. In the Amazing Spider-Man, we get to see the Spider-man origin story (yes, exactly like the one in Spider-Man), to see how he loses his uncle leading him to a life of crime-fighting (like in Spider-Man), some light comedy as he learns to use his powers (like in Spider-Man), some action as he battles an altruistic genius scientist who is corrupted by his work (like in Spider-Man 2) and deals with his unrequited love for a pretty high school co-ed (like in...well, you get the idea). The action in this reboot is efficiently handled, the effects good (although I personally thought Lizard Man looked a bit rubbish) and Andrew Garfield is likeable enough as Peter. The problem is that it …

Watch the original instead!

Just go watch the first Spider-Man (2002, Tobey Maguire) movie and save yourself the trouble. Peter Parker, a good guy who stands up for bully-bait, gets bitten by a radioactive spider and becomes a dude with super powers. After his uncle dies, he becomes obsessed with revenge, and eventually starts fighting the Lizard for some reason.
If you've seen a handful of superhero films, then this movie will feel a lot like the ones you didn't like. The villain is introduced in a way that screams that he is a villain, and then there is a twenty minute song-and-dance in which you are led to believe he's a well-intentioned scientist. After he transforms into the Lizard, he stops making sense, and starts going through the typical villain motions of causing trouble for Spider-Man to …

Fantastic reboot!

When i first heard that yet another director's vison on the whole Spiderman story was in production i felt...yawnnnnn.. Spiderman being my fave of all superheros ever since i can remember makes me more partial to these films and having seen all the Sam Raimi trilogy...needless to say i figured Hollyweird had done it's course and had no interest in seeing it all over again. That's when, upon the release of director Marc Webb's vision, i started hearing a buzz on the internet about this updated project. Finally sat down and had a look at the film and it was damn impressive... Sam Raimi who?.. What we got here could be quite similar to the fame director Chris Nolan with his revamps on the Batman saga. More realism..better script...better cast. Missing in this however is any Daily Bugle …

How it will be if the next villain will be a lady with all her cheating effort.

He's not big enough, but I'm kind of hoping Kingpin shows up. I just hope they pick someone new - even if Green Goblin seems like the obvious choice.
