Feels like a mishmash of discarded parts of crime films like Goodfellas and Casino and it's composed largely of cast from those films. Despite an attempt to recreate the mood of those films, the plot and characters, simply, aren't as compelling or strong.

HAD to watch this, mainly because of how great the cast is (Liotta! Stallone!!, Keitel!!!, De Niro!!!!) and was not disappointed. The basic plot isn't exactly original - one cop in a small town against a bunch of corrupt cops - but it still made for a pretty interesting watch, especially seeing these actors interact with each other. It plays out quite predictable and there weren't any surprises to be had story wise along the way, but I was able to look past this minor detail and enjoy it for what it is, an interesting and fairly engaging crime drama that unfortunately falls short of being anything more than just good.

Yet another Stallone masterpiece. Though, it's not quite as good as his other movies.

But it is the excellent supporting cast that makes the film work, including heavy weights of crime drama Robert De Niro, Harvey Keitel and the pick of the bunch Ray Liotta whose crisis of conscience is pivotal to the story. On the down side, Cop Land does not quite have the dramatic gravitas suggested by the all star cast and the finale is something of an anti-climax but it's a solidly …
