Don't Take It Too Seriously

Crank is a movie that never entirely takes itself seriously, and that is the key reason it succeeds. If you go to watch it with a mindset to see a realistic, ground-breaking, or witty action movie, you will be disappointed. However, if you realize that it is not supposed to be any of those things, prepare to have one hell of a good time! Jason Statham plays a hitman who has been poisoned, requiring him to pump massive amounts of adrenaline into his system in order to survive long enough to exact revenge on his attackers. From start to finish, the movie is stuffed to the brim with guns, drugs, women, language, and violence, and it is hilariously awesome! A few well-thought-out jokes, such as our character reading the subtitles, words appearing on-screen, and others add some bit of smarter …
