The Devil Wears Prada is proof of how good a film can be with a half decent screenplay and solid actors that care about the project. The fantastic cast is able to find greatness in the material, making the film so much more than your average coming of age story. Meryl Streep is insanely good and Anne Hathaway does more than hold her own in the lead role. Solid performances by the supporting actors Stanley Tucci and Emily Blunt as well.

Andrea "Andy" Sachs (Anne Hathaway) get's the job of being the junior personal assistant to Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep), the icy editor-in-chief of Runway fashion magazine. Runway's art director Nigel (Stanley Tucci) helps Andy cope up with her new job. Had a few ludicrous scenes such as Harry Potter unpublished manuscript, rude comments and the like. Meryl Streep was a to see in this role and Hathaway innocent and resourceful with her character. The plot was light and soundtrack decent. Unfortunately, talented actresses cannot make a film good just by sheer talent alone. The Devil Wears Prada may have a few laughs despite some unbelievable sequences.

Now don't run me out on a rail here, but I devoutly state, with a staunch and thorough history of pronounced and unquestioned heterosexuality: this movie was fabulous. Meryl Streep is a dream actress, I mean, everyone wants to be in a movie with her in some facet or another. No, this was not her best work by any means, but its Meryl Streep, who performs better on her bad days than most actors do on their good days. Anne Hathaway sparkles at a role that is trying to break out of the "Princess" motif (watch "Havoc" or "Brokeback Mountain" to see the "other" side of her), and Stanley Tucci, Emily Blunt, and Adrian Grenier all add a great supporting cast to this charming and hysterical comedy. Oh, and don't get all upset, we've all been caught listening to "Chelsea" on the radio.
