"Ginger & Rosa" is a fairly straightforward film. It's more interesting the more you pick it apart, realizing and discovering how and why these two teenage girls living in 1960s London are affected by the various changing landscapes.

Boring lumbering mood piece about two English girls that are lifelong friends (Elle Fanning, Alice Englert) who find their relationship challenged by the changing times of the 1960s. The two lead actresses are actually quite good and Alessandro Nivola makes a solid sleazy turn as Fanning's philandering father. But nothing really important happens that makes it memorable or interesting. It's one of those 'actors' movies that just exists.

Elle Fanning turns in yet another electric, beautiful, incredible performance, if not her career best to date, in this beautifully filmed coming-of-age/60s period piece. Don't miss it! If only for Fanning.
