'The Human Race' is a micro-budget gory thriller with a simple, yet intriguing premise. Other than a needless long opening scene, the movie gets off to a brisk pace that never lets up. Tense moments are placed evenly throughout, adding a surprise around every turn in the bend. It's just one continuous race that works on paper and in execution. There's a hint of some subtextual agenda regarding human coexistence. It's present, but does not overtake the action. Something for those keen enough to pick up on. I would've liked more investment with the characters that we learn backstory from. And the ending, while not predictable, still left me just a tad disappointed in an unexplainable way. Definitely worth a rent.

I found this to be a very gory film. I rate this movie 2.5 because it was okay. I was mainly interested in who had them racing, and for what reason. It had an interesting ending to say the least. Only one can survive. Who will it be?

I mainly have this on my radar because the premise reminds me a lot of the Stephen King novel "The Long Walk". Hopefully it's more of a homage than a ripoff - I'll keep my eye out for this one.

Watched this last night and wasnt a bad film. The film does have a lot of bloody scenes and makes you wonder where the people are actually racing. Without spoiling the film for others it may be worth the watch to see what happens next ...
