Plot: A med school drop-out has trouble with relationships - spending time locked up alone for months on end - but finally relents and goes out. 'What If' is a formidable, and very formulaic, romantic comedy. Radcliffe and Kazan are wonderful together. That's the main positive here. Their bonding is believable. It has random dialogue and slapstick situations worth some laughs. It's an easygoing, pleasant watch. I have few qualms with the film, as a whole. I only wish it wasn't so schmaltzy and predictable.
