God contacts Congressman Evan Baxter and tells him to build an ark in preparation for a great flood in this hilarious sequel to Bruce Almighty. This movie is unfunny and Steve Carell character was not enjoyable to watch.

A huge departure from Bruce Almighty. If it weren't for Steve Carell's magic, this would have been a total bomb. The message of the film was clear, unfortunately overall the execution of Evan Almighty wasn't.

Steve Carrel returns as Evan Baxter, who was in the previous film which starred Jim Carrey as Bruce Nolan in "Bruce Almighty". The former boastful news anchor Evan is the newly appointed congressman who moves to a new fancy neighborhood with his wife Joan (Lauren Graham) and their three kids. "Evan Almighty", despite an all-star cast, is just as bad as those films with its message about how we need to follow God's will and such.
The plot really needs no explanation, but to those who basically live under a rock and not seen the COUNTLESS retellings of this story, this is what happens. God (Morgan Freeman) tells Anchorman-turned-Congressman Evan Baxter (funnyman Steve Carell) to build an ark. Everyone, including his wife (Lauren Graham), Wanda Sykes, Jonah Hill, and John Goodman, all tell him not to. "Hilarity" and preachy-ness ensue.
The one thing that this film does …
