Eddie Redmayne earned a well deserved Oscar for his portrayal of iconic physicist, Stephen Hawking. The movie is a near perfect blend of a love story and biography of an influential person.

Eddie Redmayne's Oscar was truly deserved as he commits himself - body and soul - to the role of Stephen Hawking, from youth to his battle with his motor neuron disease. The transformation is truly astounding and I can't think of another actor who would have been better. You also have to give a lot of credit to Felicity Jones, who held her own playing Jane, the long-time wife (and supporter) of her husband. Great supporting cast (from the likes of David Thewlis, Harry Lloyd and Emily Watson) make this one of the best biopics I have seen.

'Theory of Everything' is a genre exercise that hits all the beats, but does so in a more dignified way. It's made to be purposefully touching, and it succeeds though purity. The film presents these characters, situations, and dialogue with a bit more class than the usual offering. Even if you know, or can tell, where the story will lead, it's still easy to get wrapped up in the moment. The actors give heartbreaking and inspiring performances that feel grounded. There's delicate beauty in the way Hawking's relationships and struggles with his disease are portrayed. I found it moving.

Konventionell

The performance of Eddie Redmayne is magnificent

Jane : What are you ?
Stephen : I’m a cosmologist
Jane : What’s that ?
Stephen : It’s a kind of religion for intelligent atheists.
I must admit that I've seen this film a few weeks ago. Probably the fact that Eddie Redmayne was nominated for an Oscar, prompted me to see if he was a worthy contender for the coveted golden statuette. And the only thing I can say is that he totally deserved to win with his magnificent performance. I love to watch a biographical movie now and then. The only drawback is that I'm always a little bit disappointed about the subject covered in such a biopic and that the emphasis lies on something I wasn't looking for. In "jOBS" I missed the philosophy this visionary had about the Apple phenomenon and the development of the applied interface (which is …

Story of a man brilliant in both mind and body

Theory of Everything is a beautiful well crafted film that will give you hope and help you to see that anything is possible no matter what road blocks are put in front of you ln life. I was totally mesmerized by Eddie Redmayne's performance as Stephen Hawking. His transformation was stunning to say the least. From his voice and physical deterioration was nothing short of brilliant. He is most deserving of his Academy Award nomination and I for one wouldn't be upset if he won. Tough year with Keaton's career achievement to contend with. Felicity Jones stands out as well as Stephen's "Rock" through most of his ordeal. She stays by his side for as long as humanely possible and her true love shows through in every scene. All in all this is a very well done moving film that doesn't …
