A magnificent restyled Disney Classic

"No matter where you go or what they may call you, you will always be my son."
Of all fairy tales adaptations I've seen so far ("Maleficent", "Snow white and the huntsmen" and "Jack the giant slayer"), this animated movie (it looks lifelike but it consists mainly out of groundbreaking digital animations) is the the most dazzling one. I don't want to sound too excited and shower Jon "Chef" Favreau with all the superlatives that I can think of for his directing work of , but in short this film was fantastic. Not only did this film throw me back to my childhood when my innocent eyes wandered over a large picture book and sympathized with the little Mowgli (Neel Sethi). The beautifully rendered rainforest that the characters call home is vibrant, lush, and colorful. This is the absolute front runner for all the Best Visual Effects categories this awards season. The action scenes are bigger in scale and for a PG rated movie are …

A Book Worth Checking Out
Chris Kavan - wrote on 08/27/2016
When Disney first started the trend of turning their beloved animated classics into current live-action iterations, I admit I was skeptical. However, as the films continue to come out, I have to say that it seems to be working. Granted, when you have talent like Jon Favreau on board directing, with talent like Bill Murray, Christopher Walken, Lupita Nyong'o, Scarlett Johansson and Idris Elba as well - it's a recipe for success.
The story of The Jungle Book doesn't follow the animated film nor the books exactly - but takes bits and pieces from each on accordingly. I have to say, the film works even better with the casting of Neel Sethi - essentially an unknown young actor. The whole thing was filmed on a lot so there is a lot of green screen and CG involved and I have to say that Sethi …
