This entire film solely regards the day-to-day activities of a homeless nobody walking the streets and shelters of a big city. It's a realistic take on these living conditions. Gere perfectly expresses the quiet and saddened nature of those in this position. Through a slow leisure pace we eventually get some insight into how he came to have his current status. He also attempts to converse with his daughter, realizing that any kind of reconciliation might be a long shot. There's literally not much more to it. I'm okay with absence of a strong story or plot, but I never did feel emotionally involved the way I felt was intended.
