A retrospective of the life and career of legendary filmmaker, Brian De Palma. It's entirely a one man show, as De Palma himself recounts many stories with insight and absolute honesty. Some history to his early life is present, but the main talking points cover his vast filmography. Many clips are utilized perfectly and edited to flow breezily from one film to the next. His stories are both fascinating and entertaining. It's a fun backseat ride into the reality behind some iconic works that any film fan will enjoy. If you like commentary tracks or featurettes, then this is for you.

Das hier ist viel mehr als ein Fetisch um Brian De Palma, dessen Jüngerschar ihm ungebrochen folgt! Das hier ist schlicht einer der grössten Filme über Hollywood an sich. Brian De Palma weist eine der beeindruckendsten Filmographien der Traumstadt vor. Gleichwohl erlitt seine Karriere dieselben Höhen und Tiefen, welche auch die Filmindustrie in den letzten Jahrzehnten durchmachte - und die wiederum erleben wir durch die Perspektive eines ihrer eigenwilligsten Vertreter. Geboren in Philadelphia 1940 infizierte er sich früh mit einem Virus, das wir unter dem Namen Alfred Hitch cock kennen. 1963 begann De Palma seine eigene Kino Karriere und besetzte immerhin niemanden geringeres als Robert De Niro in seinem Debüt.
