Great storyline and a happy fun time film. It's a cute film with great acting. The cast for this film is perfect. You will watch this movie over again in a couple years, it's that good. Another plus is it has James Remar in it from the "The Warriors movie!"

Cringe after cringe after cringe as one obvious thing follows another. Tim Olyphant's character was the most interesting thing here. Anyway...high school senior makes good thanks to porn. The good guys win at the end, but it may not be enough for the headache this movie may cause. It's good enough to watch once.

One drawn out male fantasy filled with cliches and devoid of most of the laughs it promises.

A pretty good movie

An ambitious high school senior (Emile Hirsch) meets the woman of his dreams -- the new girl next door (Elisha Cuthbert), who turns out to be a 19-year old who is trying to get out of the adult film industry. However, her former boyfriend and director (Timothy Olyphant) comes back into her life to try to pull her back into the business, and screw up her new man's dream of getting into Georgetown University.
This movie is a pretty good film, but it can't be compared to the better teen dealing with problems growing up films that you related to when you were a teen.
The acting in this movie is not bad at all. Most of the characters meld quite well. Cuthbert comes across as a sweetheart -- your typical girl next door type. Hirsch also stands out and is very believable in his role. …

Hirsch Made the Film All the More Enjoyable

I remember watching "Ebert and Roeper" when they reviewed this film and they absolutely hated it. Granted, they were spot-on about the trailers presenting this movie as a romantic comedy when it really is not. It gets more serious than most romantic comedies and I think it's a wise move on the filmmakers' part. What I don't agree with is this film being nothing but raunchy. Sure, there were nudity but I thought it had a genuine heart, especially during the first half of the film. I felt for Emile Hirsch's character when he couldn't think of a high school memory that he would always remember. It made me look back on my high school years. Even though the main character was successful in school, he didn't really make the most of it because he was too busy getting excellent grades, …

It's the tripod

Some may look at my rating system and think I'm being too liberal with my star rating methods.
Do I think this movie is award winning? No. But there isn't an aspect of this movie that I think was done poorly.
Therefore, she gets 4-stars. You have beef with that....you know how to contact me :)
On to the review.
As I said, I look back at this movie and there is not an aspect I find lacking in any way.
Story, Person-ability, Casting, Music...I dug it all.
Basic story, high school boy ends up meeting girl....falls for girl....drama occurs....boy fights for girl....good triumphs and boy gets girl in the end.
For comedic effect, let's make girl a former porn star trying to reform her life.
Can I say genius? I can? GENIUS!
