Although conventional, "Megan Leavey" plays off said conventions so assuringly, it earns its chances to pull the heartstrings.

'Megan Leavey' is no 'American Sniper' but it's a serviceable biographical movie inspired by a moving human interest story. It's difficult not to be touched by the friendship between Leavey (Kate Mara) and her dog Rex.
