Plot: Deanna has been a dedicated wife for a long time - so is thrown for a loop when her husband suddenly leaves her. Instead of dwelling on this change, she throws herself head-first and goes back to college - landing in the same school and class as her daughter. The awkward situation gets even more so as Deanna, now dubbed Dee Rock, starts to really get into college life, making for one unforgettable senior year. -- Chris Kavan

A comedy where Melissa McCarthy goes to college should be full of raunchy hilarity, but "Life of the Party" plays it too safe.
