The ambitious "Roman J. Israel, Esq." has a fantastic Denzel Washington performance, but it's missing focus.

I liked it a lot! The performances by Denzel Washington and Colin Farrell were satisfying. I also think that it has a decent script with good story running. But what really stood out for me was the editing and scoring. I feel like these two elements were perfectly executed in the film. My only concern was, overall, the impact of the film was very minimal.

And when one of Roman’s ill advised legal maneuvers as a newly retained lawyer for George Pierce’s (Colin Farrell) firm backfires on him, he makes …
