It meanders a bit - but it was shot beautifully and the story was quite inspirational. A perfect film to watch for Memorial Day.

Since the story took place in the Philippines, I should be ecstatic, but I'm not. The plot is a bit disorganized and too many subplots crowd the whole storyline. The only satisfaction I have is that finally, the forgotten chronicles of the Filipino-American soldiers and guerillas who fought side by side against the Japanese forces are finally brought to light. The survivors of the BATAAN DEATH MARCH are seen here as WWII comes to a dramatic close. The intermingling romantic sequences did not help at all. The entire film was way too dragging and overstretched. Informative though.

A superficial action drama which loads up on the cliches and doesn't provide a single character to identify with; the actual raid is well-shot, but too many characters get lost in the jumble. FInal Grade: C
