Sumptuously filmed costume drama about the famed Parisian writer Colette with a hearty dose of sensuality thrown into the melodrama. Keira Knightley is fantastic in the role of a winsome housewife turned libertine and artist. Dominic West provides a surprising amount of humor and cunning as her husband Willy. The movie doesn't bog itself down with stuffy bullet points but spirits along with gusto. Although the first half is more entertaining and less predictable than the second portion.

While I respect "Colette" and its timely message, it has all the transparency and predictability of a glorified Lifetime movie.
