Plot: French artist Paul Gauguin feels smothered in 1891 Paris, and it hinders his artistic ability. Unable to convince his family to go with him, he voyages alone to Tahiti, wear he sets up on the far reaches of civilization. Setting up a native-style hut, he finds inspiration once again - and though he deals with many troubles, also finds a connection and happiness in Tehura, a young, beautiful native. -- Chris Kavan
