"Wakanda Forever" is neither the most outside the box Marvel movie nor the most nimble or grandiose follow up to a previous installment. Regardless, the chance to revisit the magical world and characters of the first "Black Panther" is hard to turn down.

Decent sequel that uses a sad death with respect

Despite the sad death of Chadwick Boseman delaying its release, this sequel to the megahit Black Panther is pretty good. I have to admit it is less enjoyable to watch because T'Challa is not even in the movie. The action scenes are pretty well done and the scale of the movie is much bigger than the first one. I remember people complaining about the CGI in the last movie. Don't worry, it looks far better in 'Wakanda Forever'.
It does feel more of an ensemble movie. But that also means the plot kind of jumps from one point to another following different characters. Some do a nice job. Angela Bassett is excellent as Queen Ramonda. It's no wonder she got an Oscar nomination. Winston Duke is pretty good as M'Baku but he's not onscreen that much. A Moving Tribute in a Solid MCU Mold

Director Ryan Coogler nearly stepped away from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever after the death of Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman in 2020. How does one make a Black Panther sequel without THE Black Panther? But Coogler stayed on and he has crafted a sequel that not only pays homage to Boseman, but also serves as an emotional tribute while still moving the MCU to next level.
The film wastes no time on those emotions as it opens with the off-screen death of T'Challa - and follows with a send-off that is as much a celebration of his life as it is a reflection of his legacy. And things are heating up in Wakanda as without the Black Panther to protect them, outside forces are doing everything they can to get their hands on the coveted Vibranium that is only found in their country.
