Forrest Whitaker and Garrett Hedlund play enemies turned friends in this true-life drama. Hedlund plays Mike Burden, a klansman who experiences a life changing epiphany. At the urging of his kindhearted girlfriend (Riseborough), Burden finds redemption by befriending a black minister (Whitaker). It’s not as extreme as American History X, but it’s not shying away from the ugliness of racism.
