In just a few years, the whole multi-verse thing has already been overdone by the superhero genre. "The Flash" is a clumsy, exhausting adventure that does nothing to expand the concept or to improve the quickly waning DC brand.

Overstuffed yet somehow undercooked superhero film

Time travel epic featuring the Scarlet Speedster in his first solo adventure. And probably his last considering how much this flopped at the box office. Ezra Miller is very likely an insane jerk in real life.
But he does alright as Barry Allen. I will admit the first half hour of this movie had me thoroughly engaged. The opening action scene is funny, thrilling, and fast paced. The bit with the baby in the microwave is utterly bonkers but once you learn the context, it is a hilarious moment.
But after that, tthe movie spends too much time on the hijinks featuring two Flashes and the humor doesn't land that well in the second act. Things start to pick up again once Michael Keaton reappears as Batman. He is having a good time reprising his Bruce Wayne mannerisms and demonstrates he …

The Flash and the Furious

There is no doubt that the DCEU has going through a lot of rough patches - so much so that it's about to be rebooted... again, meaning that everything coming out between now and then is kind of irrelevant going forward? That being said, The Flash is one of the better films in the series of late. It's better than Shazam 2, Black Adam and Wonder Woman 1984. It manages to be fun while throwing out major nostalgic vibes but also adding in some decent emotional stakes. Sure, some of the special effects are a bit off and Ezra Miller's off-screen troubles cast a big shadow over everything, but in the end if this is how the current stage of DC is going to end, I think it works out pretty good.
