Eerie and moody rendition of the Arthurian story where Sir Gawain accepts the challenge from the Green Knight. The scenery is gorgeous to look at. The atmosphere is dreamlike if sometimes unsettling. Dev Patel is good as the impetuous Gawain. Ralph Ineson is haunting as the otherworldly Green Knight.

"Now... off with your head." 'The Green Knight' is a Christmas movie! Live with it or live in denial. David Lowery is now a director to keep an extra eye on, in terms of his next project. It's rare these days that we get these super weird adult fantasy movies that feels like 'The Princess Bride', but more...well, adult. Everything on a technical and production level is flawless. Protection design, costumes, make-up, score, visual effects, Dev Patel's jizz, and the cinematography. Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays everyone!

Strengthened by Dev Patel's understated range, its message about the importance of honor and courage, and especially solid direction from a real visionary, "The Green Knight" betrays the fantasy standards set by blockbuster obsessed Hollywood and finds something dark and original.
