Plot: Brodie Torrance is a distinguished pilot - one who takes the safety of his passengers very seriously. When a storm forces him to land on a war-torn island, he soon finds surviving the landing is only the beginning. When most of his passengers are taken hostage he turns to the one man who can save them: Louis Gaspare, accused murderer who was being transported by the FBI. Adequate but not very original action thriller that accomplishes exactly what it advertised. Gerard Butler is fine but Mike Colter was pretty cool. The action is brutal though there is a lot of shakey-cam. I appreciate the movie having a more serious tone than expected, but the characters are not very memorable. It's a better-than-average January release.

Honestly not bad at all. I expected the worst or something generic, but this was better than I imagined. Gerard Butler, surprisingly, delivers an emotional performance, especially towards the end when we see his character's vulnerability, which we don't see too much in action movies these days. Then again, one of the things that I respect about Gerard Butler is that, despite what you think of the film itself, he is always giving it 100%
