Overall, I feel the film plays things way too safe - taking a more corporate approach rather than having a more personal touch. Still, this boasts an outstanding cast and still makes a valid point - even if it feels both too clinical and rather cynical too make an impactful statement about the ongoing opiod crisis. IMO, Dopesick still is the high-water mark out of all the media I've seen.

The cast is terrific, but the characters they play are left sorely underdeveloped by the weak writing. I didn't learn anything I didn't already know about the fentanyl crisis sweeping America, making "Pain Hustlers" a more numbing experience than an enlightening one.

Disjointed blend between a black comedy and a crime drama that really wants to be 'The Wolf of Wall Street'. Or at least Netflix's version of that. Chris Evans and Emily Blunt are not bad though as a couple of sleazy entrepreneurs working for a shady pharmaceutical company. It weaves in and out of third-person narration and first-person interviews and it's pretty jarring. What's surprising is that this was directed by David Yates (Harry Potter) who has proved he can handle big ensemble movies, but this felt more like a glossy TV movie.
