Jeff Daniels and Kelly McGillis stumble upon a government conspiracy in this old-fashioned mystery drama. Both leads fit their roles well enough. But it's hard to get terribly invested in the plot since it's quite thin. It does try to paint a more ambiguous picture by including McCarthyism as a backdrop but it's just window dressing since it's a period piece set in the 1950s.
