Plot: The machinations of the classes in early twentieth century Britain are illustrated through the interplay between three families: the Schlegels, a free-spirited set of siblings; the Wilcoxes, part of the landed gentry; and the Basts, a struggling lower-class couple. "Howards End" is an exceptional portrait of the English class system. Of all the movies based on Forster's novels, I'd bank on this one as the best.

Great adaption of the book - true to plot, with beautiful details in costume and setting.
