Just imagine if The Purge were an action comedy and you'll get the gist of this utterly ridiculous if highly enjoyable romp. Shakespeare it ain't - but I did like John Cena as the loveable giant and while Awkwafina may be a bit grating, she is still a nice fit for the role. Seann William Scott and Machine Gun Kelly are along for some nice cameos while Simu Liu is highly punchable as the duplicitous bad guy. The real scene-stealer along the way is Ayden Mayeri as the trashy but determined Airbnb host constantly on their tail. All in all, a fun way to spend your time just don't expect your world to change.

Manic action-comedy that starts out with gusto but soon fizzles out near the end. If it was just a chase movie with Awkwafina and John Cena fighting off crazed lottery fans for 90 minutes, I think that would had been enough. But it soon gets more complicated and less interesting. However the fight scenes are actually pretty well staged and entertaining.

There's not enough of a reason to care about anything that happens, a recurring fundamental flaw with today's entertainment. When you aren't invested in a movie's characters, there's nothing to fall back on when the action scenes don't fully cut it, which in "Jackpot!," happens quite frequently.
