One of the all-time great adventure films of the 90's. This is Spielberg at the top of his game - churning out an adrenaline-packed, funny, charming, and awe-inspiring action film with a little something for everybody. The dinosaur effects are impressive and the crazy world of Jurassic Park (a world that, let's face it, we all wished we could inhabit as a kid) is brought to life with a host of technical and artistic elements working together. The cast is spot-on and an early small-ish role from Sam Jackson warns you to "hold on to your butts!"

Another perfect Spielberg staple

A movie from the 90's that has visual effects better than some of the movies today. My God.
Jurassic Park is another Spielberg staple. It has all the fun and adventure, big life feeling and the John Williams score blazing through majestic shots.
There is not a lot to say about this movie, other than that it is fun. It can make anyone happy, that is Spielberg's talent; he knows how to entertain properly.
The film is so well structured, opening with a typical Spielberg introduction, getting to know the characters but summing everything up within ten minutes to get to the exciting bits.
The dinosaurs are simply stunning, I had to pick the film up on Blu-Ray.
The acting… Doesn't matter. Everything outweighs the on-screen reactions of the characters.
Once again, another feel-good …

Those Who Endure The First Hour Will Be Rewarded

Jurassic Park is surprisingly good, and I say "surprisingly," because I didn't know how much more I really wanted to watch after the first hour. Roughly the first 60 minutes is contaminated with utter boredom. In fact, most of this first hour wasn't even necessary. If I could crop out the 5-10 minutes of the first hour that were important, I imagine that the audience would still understand what was happening. Maybe it was just my inner-boy speaking, but I wanted to see some dinosaurs for cryin' out loud!
But I digress.
(To the film's credit, though, we do see some dinos before they begin their reign of terror, but most are in the background, one we only get a glimpse of his claw and eye. Only one dino is fully exposed, and it doesn't really do anything. And before the dinos start …

Jurassic Park review

I for one was always fascinated with dinosaurs as a kid. This is one of several milestones of Steven Spielberg. A novel based film; I felt that there was not a single figure was attention-grabbing. Dr. John Hammond" (Richard Attenborough) was like a babbling geek, Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neil) was too serious, Dr. Ellie Sattler (Lauren Dern) wasn’t that pretty/charming enough and the vexing Dr. Ian Malcom (Jeff Goldblum) just kept complaining too much. The kids were a blast and Wayne Knights character made the film more engaging and believable. The effects were highly convincing, story was not that interesting though since it just tried to frighten the viewers in the second half of the picture. Having a solid cast helps like Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Richard Attenborough, …
