As the mystery deepens with less and less chance of ever being sloved, you'll be amazed at how personal these murders become.

This slow burn of a thriller is interesting, as it is more about the obsession and frustrations of the detectives, than it is about the killer. In fact, the killer serves as little more than a catalyst to explore themes of revenge and dedication that are fearlessly acted by the talented cast. Powerful and the last scene is sad and perfect.

Memories of Murder review
Daniel Corleone - wrote on 04/08/2013
Very much like Zodiac and Seven, but similar as the first since the crime was unresolved. Park Doo-man is assisted by Detective Seo Tae-yoon to resolve murder cases of single women whenever it rains. DNA evidence will play a huge part in finding the real killer. Soundtrack, performances and cinematography were faultless. Earnest acting from Kang-ho Song and Sang-kyung Kim keeps the viewer engaged until the very end. It's true to life plot seemed prolonged as some humor and drama were injected. The movie presents how difficult it is for detectives to solve a case without any evidence and the media manipulating on any flaws from the law. It likewise shows the pains of working as a detective, to the point of sanity being compromised. Memories of Murder was skillfully crafted.
