A romantic comedy less about finding true love, and more about hopelessly waiting for it to fall into your lap. Toni Collette's sympathetic, yet likable character and the ABBA soundtrack are especially sweet.

I'm still not sure whether or not I liked this movie. The character of Muriel (Mariel...) was so unlikable. At times she was alright, but throughout most of the film I just didn't like her. That's not to say this was a bad film- it was actually pretty good, if a little depressing. Or maybe a lot depressing, I'm not really sure why it's put under the category of Comedy, Romance because it was mostly just...sad. There were some funny moments, but they were few and far between (unless I'm just not understanding Australian humor). But it seems like a classic all its own so I suppose I'd recommend it.

This movie is about Muriel, who wants to get married. But she still lives with her parents, doesn't have any proper friends, and is considered 'nobody'. Muriel's Wedding is a hilariously funny classic Aussie movie which must be seen by everyone!
