Boasting a cumbersome runtime and reckless unevenness, "Nixon" is a tragic, intense, and surprisingly sympathetic biopic of the United States' most infamous and complicated political figure.

Hopkins is great as the late president. But the movie is deathly slow. It's good, but not great.

Too much of Stone's hatred.

The problem with this film is stone makes it clear he hates Nixon. At every turn he makes him look as bad as possible. Saying outrageous things about him, which have no evidence. And his constant comparison to Kennedy is just annoying, because it does not stop. Nixon's good points are constantly smudged over, and are basically hidden from sight by Stone. Anthony Hopkins gives a strange performance and a highly inaccurate one. Nixon walks like some sort of troll, his voice is bizarre, it just is stone's own perception of him visually therefore inaccurate.
