Great love story. Will make you cry all the way trough. Realistic and simple but at the same time has a really creative plot. It has some a couple of little plot twists that will keep you at the edge of your seat.

Love never dies!
Noah (James Gosling) plays a hard working lumber yard worker who is smitten by Allie, (nicely played by Rachel McAdams) a rich, southern belle living under the watchful eyes of her snooty, upper crust parents who have pretty much mapped out her whole life for her. Allie’s parents disapprove of their romance and take her back to the city. Noah writes to Allie everyday for a year - 365 letters but her mother keeps the letters that he wrote her secret. The disillusioned Allie believes that their relationship was just a summer romance and that he has forgotten about her so she gets engaged to a wealthy man of the same standards. Another novel based film that I have seen on the big screen. The first part of the film was engaging. Noah, played by James Garner, was very charming when courting Allie (Gena Rowlands). The stunts pulled were very original. As in life, we all have certain gestures to win the heart of a girl. The only concern I had was there were some portions of the film that was too long and that the ending based on the book was different. The locations and quality of film was eye catching. It is a roller coaster of emotions toward the end of the film.
In my opinion, love is solid when sacrifice and persistence are involved. Noah did this by writing Allie 365 letters and by reading the notebook to remember everything since she was sick. Proving ones love is something that occurs every day …

The best thing about "The Notebook" is probably its simplicity. There's nothing complicated about it. It's all about the love shared by two very different people who have built a life together in spite of their differences, and who face their declining years together, with all the challenges those declining years bring. It's sweet, it's romantic, it's emotional- it's probably the epitome of what we think of when we speak about a "chick flick." And it's very good. The premise is - as I said - surprisingly simple. Allie (Gena Rowlands) is confined to a nursing home because of dementia. She can't remember anything - not even her family.
