Not sure what it wants to be and punctuated by an ending that is nonsensical, Tim Burton's "Apes" remake is one of the worst and most unnecessary re-imaginings of a classic ever.

The story is about a man is thrown through time and space to a land where apes rule over humans. This movie has bad acting by Mark Wahlberg and stupid senses with Helena Bonham Carter.

The ship of Leo Davidson (Mark Wahlberg) crashes in a planet Ashlar in the year 5021. He meets Ari (Helena Bonham Carter). General Thade (Tim Roth) and Colonel Attar (Michael Clarke Duncan) to search for humans. A battle erupts between the apes and men. Leo was able to go back in his real era and discovers a horrifying truth. The effects, make-up were definitely better than its predecessor but the depth of the story was incomparable. Performances was a bit over the top here unlike the sincerity of the first installment. The Planet of the Apes (2001 version) was action packed but lacks a suitable screenplay that would have paid a better homage to its original.

While trying to save his chimp from a death in space, Captain Leo Davidson (Mark Wahlberg) was hurled through time and space to a strange land where humans were slaves for apes. Now, along with an apes Ari (Helena Bonham Carter) and Limbo (Paul Giamatti) and a human named Daena (Estella Warren), he is trying to find his way home in “Planet of the Apes.”
I want so much place sole blame for this movie on Fox, but I can’t help but wondering why director Tim Burton took the job in the first place. The whole concept of even making this remake was a travesty from the start, but the end result wasn’t a complete disaster.
For instance, the acting is true Burton quality. He can always get his actors to do exactly what he wants them to. The acting seems choreographed, and I wonder …

The "hero" (Wahlberg), a highly trained and professional astronaut, blatantly disobeys his commanding officer to rescue a space monkey. After being sucked into a convenient local time warp that just happens to appear outside the space station. The hero crashes his tiny space pod on some strange planet, without getting a scratch on him. He gets out and immediately runs into some oppressed humans being chased by leaping killer apes. The hero becomes a slave, escapes, and finds his pretty space station has crashed on the planet and all of his friends are dead.
Over all it was a quickly hashed remake, there were some good scenes, and Helena Bonham Carter, Tim Roth, and Mark Wahlberg and did an impressive job over all in making the movie work. Unfortunately there wasn't much in the way of …
