The story is excruciatingly Hollywood, but "The Pursuit of Happyness" is saved by Will Smith's committed performance and the film's earnest portrayals of homelessness and financial struggles.

The problem today with modern movies is their inability to be relatable. The further we progress into the future the more movies are getting deeper and deeper into the idea that fantasy is what the people want to see, but what can we take away from these kinds a movies? A viewer was not to leave a movie feeling that anything is possible. A movie is not only supposed to open your imagination but also your hopes that anything can be overcome by anyone. That is why the movie The Pursuit of Happiness is timeless.
