Not content with having spoiled and raped planet Earth of all of its natural resources, the insatiable forces of capitalist greed seek to expand their ravenous appetite to other resource-rich planets in the galaxy, in this case, "Pandora." The fact that Pandora has an indigenous population--the Navi--whose village just happens to be situated directly above a rich mineral deposit, is no obstacle to the mighty forces of military imperialism. Initially marines are sent in to infiltrate the Pandoran population in "avatar" bodies (grown from a mixture of human and “alien” DNA) in order to gather recognizance and earn the trust of the natives.
