Yeah I agree with your thoughts on Shyamalan. I liked Unbreakable and Signs, but I thought both had a few flaws (unlike the Sixth Sense which was just amazing). The guy has real talent, that's for sure (especially as young as he is). He just needs to focus on what he does best and strive for excellence in all his movies like Speilberg does. I don't mind failures here and there (all directors have them) but Shyamalan's latest flicks seem to me like he's selling out for a cheap buck (my buck …

Yeah the Monkey scene in The Crystal Skull was horrible - that's the only point where I really rolled my eyes in the movie. I did think Lucas and Speilberg used CGI more as a crutch in the movie instead of recreating the creepy feel of Raiders and Temple of Doom. Still, I liked Crystal Skull more than the Last Crusade.
