A History of Violence is probably the best movie to compare Eastern Promises to. Both of them are boring movies about boring people killing people in semi-boring ways.

I think that the studios should start to re invent in some way (maybe stop making them) the quest-for-something-travelling-a-gang-in-sapace kind of subgenre.
They're all start to look the same to me. Sunshine is not bad at all, but it lacks of some originality. It seems 2001 killed the rest for good, if you know what I mean.

I've just seen Umberto D. Making a review now. And, yes. I found the Fountain better than Sunshine. I think is more better developed, and, it doesnt have that copycat ending than Sunshine has (I mean the Event horizon esque scenes) That's what I think pissed me more about sunshine, otherwise, it would have end up better in my records. What about you? What do you think?

I have not seen I Am Legend yet. My advance screenings are spotty and never an assured thing. But I will be seeing it, that's for sure.

No Country for Old Men Review comment
Replying to your comment on my review for No Country for Old Men...
First of all, the money isn't important. It's clear the Coens don't care who ends up with it and neither should we. This is shown by the fact that Llewelyn is shot off screen we just see people leaving. So the Mexicans driving off may have got it, or perhaps Chigurh got it given the vent was open with a coin...it doesn't matter.
Also, TLJ does have a resolved ending. In the beginning of the movie you hear his voice …
