Herr R. Run Amok is definitely great - if it weren't for Schygulla's (whom I love) performance in Maria Braun, it would probably be my favorite Fassbinder. It's a lot different from his other films, though.

Ok. Thanks a lot. I'll write about it as soon as I see it.

Blaz. Would you tell me your feelings and thoughts about Balthazar? Haven't seen it, but I'd like to read something about someone that loves it, before I do.

I have not heard any information about Four Nights of a Dreamer being released on DVD (or anyother form), this is real unfortunate because it is such a good film. I would say it is closer to his later efforts than his earlier stuff, but is closer to his early stuff than say A Gentle Woman. I watched a poor quality bootleg and I don't know if anything better exists. It was still good enough for me to get an idea of how great this film really was. I'll let you know if I hear any information …

I like your "around the world" lists. I made once a "20 per director per country".

Life of Brian may be my favorite comedy! I want to see Dr. Strangelove and I'm seeing The Great Dictator soon. Do you like The Coens' movies?

Excellent Bresson is one of my favorite directors, my top 5 would consist of 1. Four Nights of a Dreamer 2. Diary of a Country Priest 3. Balthazar 4. Mouchette 5 Pickpocket. A Man Escaped would fall somewhere in the middle and The Ladies of the Bois de Boulogne is probably my least favorite film from him, so I would not be surprised if your rankings do not change.

So what are your favorite Bresson's?
