James Bond Films comment
On Her Majesty's Secret Service is also my favorite James Bond film; I really like how there's character development & the Bond Girl actually feels like a character instead of just James's sexploits. I feel like Goldeneye deserves a higher position though.

Old list. I have since seen A Serious Man about a year a go actually and would probably rank that very highly on the list today.

Well, I can't speak for everyone else, but the reason I rank Fargo the highest is simply because, I like that film the most. I'm not considering other people's opinions or lists, I'm simply stating my favorites.

Thanks for commenting on my list. What can I say: I found the novel "The Talented Mr. Ripley" gripping and beautifully written, and the protagonist perversely sympathetic. I just found the film leaden. But hey, to each his own! You seem to have great taste in films otherwise ;) .

I gotta say I found absolutely nothing to enjoy about "Burn After Reading". The Coens' humor did nothing for me. The writing was stale. The performances were quirky as usual but just plain uninteresting. However, for me, Fargo provides a remarkable experience during each viewing. Sentimental yes, but also a triumph in remarkable writing, character development, and cinematography. I respect your opinion however I believe Fargo is not just the Coens' best film, but among the best films of …
