Predictable Eye Candy Entertainment

Not nearly as good as the first Transformers movie. I did enjoy it though. The plot doesn't really exist (maybe that is what some people want) and there is no true mystery as to what is going on or what is going to happen. The action is pure eye candy in more ways than one.
Action is top quality, though it does go on for a while - probably a bit too long. Michael Bay tries to ramp up the drama, even though it doesn't exist. Unlike the first movie, the suspense isn't really there. The special effects are great and they do a good job of hiding some of the transitions of the robots. I was disappointed in the overall ability of "The Fallen." But, it was still addicting has heck to watch.
The biggest complaint is not the acting or the direction it is the amount of mindless, non escalating action. I love good action (first Transformers, The Matrix, Die Hard, etc...) but when it is not good action (and makes the movie 2.5 hours long) it is very unnecessary. Also, there was no real drama between Shia and Megan, which is what made the first movie so great (remember the crappy Camero and how he used it to get the girl). The mystery was gone.
A mostly solid pop corn flick. If you liked the first one, you will like this one. If you didn't like the first one, why go to this?

Neither your review or mine sound like we're going to give this movie three stars. Maybe movies that have great action and little else are just prone to that...
